Color Grading FAQ
What is the difference between Color Correction and Color Grading?
Color correction is the technical foundation: balancing exposures and matching different camera systems (like ARRI, RED, or Sony). Color grading is the creative phase where we craft a unique cinematic look that enhances the narrative and mood of your film.
How about HDR deliveries?
I can provide deliveries for both SDR and HDR (High Dynamic Range), ensuring your content is future-proof and meets the technical specs of major streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, or YouTube HDR.
Do you handle the final delivery and DCP creation?
Yes. Beyond the grade, I provide full finishing services. This includes mastering to various formats and creating industry-standard Digital Cinema Packages (DCP) for theatrical screenings and film festivals, ensuring your project looks perfect on the big screen.
How do you manage remote grading and file review?
I offer a streamlined remote workflow using my own server and Frame.io integration. Clients can review high-quality exports and provide frame-accurate feedback from any location, maintaining a collaborative process worldwide without needing to be in the Amsterdam-based color grading suite.
How do you handle project pricing?
Every project is unique, but to provide a baseline: most projects start at € 1.100 per day, which includes the use of my professionally calibrated 4K HDR suite in Amsterdam and my services as a colorist. For complex long-form projects or custom workflows, I’m happy to provide a tailored quote.
